In this action, an employee claims that his employer committed the torts of "false light" invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress by circulating information about his termination among his fellow employees. The trial court rendered judgment on a jury verdict for the plaintiff on both theories. The court of appeals held that no evidence supported the jurys verdict as to intentional infliction of emotional distress, but it affirmed the judgment of the trial court under the false light theory. 809 S.W.2d 514. We reverse the judgment of the court of appeals and remand for a new trial on Mendezs false light theory.
